where educators come to learn from one another

I was just awarded a $3600 grant to buy 12 kindles for our middle school. The grant requested 6 Kindles for library use and 6 for classroom use.

The Library Kindles would have popular materials and some music as well as a few audible books. The classroom Kindles would have subject specific trade novels to be used in small groups. I would also load magazine and/or newspaper subscriptions to the Teacher Kindle.

I requested that 12 teachers would be chosen to test the Kindle in the summer - loading their supplemental materials, reading, annotating and highlighting the books they would use in the fall, searching and bookmarking websites, etc.

As soon as I receive the money and start purchasing, I will keep you informed!

Congratulations! It will be interesting to see if you get interest from teachers in all subject areas.
