where educators come to learn from one another
So, Monday I introduced the Kindles to my class. The kids say they are "awesome". One student says she prefers the Kindle because she doesn't have to worry about a book that may fall apart.
They already are in love with the built in dictionary. This makes learning new vocabulary a snap.
I did learn a valuable lesson today, though. Once a book is on a Kindle it is there forever. A student in another class accidentally downloaded the last copy I had available for my class to his/her Kindle. I had to buy another copy so my class had enough. Good learning experience!!!
Also, thanks to Kathy Parker, I have added about 10-15 new classics to our Kindles for FREE! I love free!
So, rating this new guided reading technique from 1 to 5. I would say a 5.

Download the QR code, print it, and post it somewhere for students to access. Or post it on your blog or other school website. Get the i-nigma code reader in the App Store or the Android market. It is the reader we prefer. Courtesy of The Learning Mag.
