First Snag - How to Purchase the Kindles

ARGH! We are not allowed to purchase gift cards using our purchase order accounts and that means I have no way to purchase the Kindle even though I have money. We received the check for $3,600 but it's made out to our school. This means it must go into a school account and we must use a purchase order. Not quite sure what to do next...

Social Studies Teachers

My first three teachers are social studies teachers. I really thought it would be language arts... I offered the Kindle to Language Arts and Social Studies teachers first because I feel it would be easier to work with them. Three Social Studies teachers, 1 6th grade and 2 7th grade, have answered the call.

Choosing Teachers

I get to choose 12 educators to test out the Kindle over the summer. They have to tell me:

what unit the Kindle would be used in
how they envision interacting with students via the kindle

Teachers have to complete a monthly open-ended survey on their uses of the Kindle. I'm hoping to tackle any bugs by "testing" it through them before rolling them out to students.

Granted!

I was just awarded a $3600 grant to buy 12 kindles for our middle school. The grant requested 6 Kindles for library use and 6 for classroom use.

The Library Kindles would have popular materials and some music as well as a few audible books. The classroom Kindles would have subject specific trade novels to be used in small groups. I would also load magazine and/or newspaper subscriptions to the Teacher Kindle.
