Hi Patty,

Will DeLamater recommended that I contact you.  I am finishing up my masters degree in library science and my dissertation project is on using e-readers with students for instructional purposes.  I am interviewing educators about their experience with this.  Is this something that you would be interested in helping me with?  Just let me know!  Thanks!!

Patty-

Thanks, friend (I've never been "ning befriended" before.  I did, in fact, pass your posting with the links directly to my vendor/trainer for COMPanion's Alexandria program.  She is in the draft-writing stage of writing guidelines for Alexandria users, most of whom are K-12 schools.  As you have noticed, others are looking for guidelines a bit less complicated than Buffy Hamilton's but accurate. Meanwhile, my tech. person tells me I'm also going to get a few iPads, so cataloging the equipment should be the same. With iPads, Wake Forest University resets all iPads to a default setting upon return from checkouts--- so their user agreement warns that any user-downloaded apps will be lost upon check-in.  And I'm not sure about cataloging titles on an iPad--if I learn anything, I'll be sure to share it with you and others.

Hi Patty,
Thanks for telling me about this site. I've already found some helpful info on how librarys have cataloged Kindles.

Hi Patty, welcome to the group! Please ask questions and share your thoughts as we figure out how to use ereaders with students!
