Nook Color System Upgrade

On Wednesday night my Nook Color automatically upgraded the operating system. I can now pinch the screen when I'm using the browser. I haven't noticed other changes yet.

Checking out public library books on a library e-reader

I work in an Information Center for an intermediate school district. I have a Nook Touch and a 3rd gen Kindle that I check out to employees so that they can see how e-readers work and compare the models. I have some books on each device. An employee suggested that to make the e-readers more desirable to check out that I offer a service of adding public library books per an employee's request.

Brown Bag Lunch - E-Reader Roundup

I thought I would let fellow e-reader lovers know that today at MPOW I had a brown bag lunch called E-Reader Roundup. It was for employees and 18 showed up. It was a tight squeeze in the Information Center but a lot of fun. I brought my Nook Color and Sony Reader Pocket Edition. Some folks brought their e-readers: iPad (I know - a tablet but tech services brought it in to show the e-reader functions), new Kindle, old Kindle, Kindle DX, Pandigital, Sony - so we had a nice variety. I just looked at Google Books: http://books.google.com/ebooks and I see that you can buy books for the Nook and Sony readers. Has anyone tried this yet? Just curious.
