I hope everyone is having a great school year!  I just released the first edition of my new publication Classroom Tech Monthly. Classroom Tech Monthly strives to provide helpful tips and articles to teachers that implement and use ereaders, tablets, and other technology in their classrooms.  The first issue can be found here.  Each issue will have a question of the month, iPad app of the month, Kindle Korner, and much more!  I plan to…

Our school is new and opening with iPad 2's for all students and teachers.  I am learning quickly the best ways to provide reading opportunities to our students.

Hi Jeremy,

When I joined in February, our school just purchased six Kindles through a grant.  Now I am ready (I think) to start.  How are copyright, publishing info, etc. taken care of in the books downloaded into the Kindles? I have 45 books in each of the six Kindles now.

I have a Sony E-Reader already that I am using with students.  I wrote a grant to get a KIndle for my room as well.  I am trying to slowly add to my resources for students.  Do you have one in your classroom?

I just received the go-ahead to purchase 12 Kindles.  Now the work begins, starting with device and book management.  Any suggestions on a check-out form?  We use Alexandria for our library management program, I will call them for tech support.  I am a little nervous regarding copyright, etc.  I am also in the process of researching instructional lessons for the beginners so that they are familiar with the devices.  ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE APPRECIATED.

Actually, I just received one as a gift and thought how wonderful it would be to use in the classroom. I became a member of this site to see how others have implemented them into their curriculum.

Actually, I already have!! I am speaking at PETE&C and PSLA re: Kindles in the library. I have been using the kindle ereaders in my middle school (8th grade only) as a pilot program this year, and just learned about the Ning!

Yes, we are in the preliminary process of integrating Kindles into our High School library and classrooms.  Funding is an issue at the moment, but I am working on it.  I have so many questions and maybe a little fear of the "unknown". The lending and borrowing is definitely a concern especially when I read blogs related to copyright issues. Our administration is very much on board so I can move forward, the sooner the better.  Any comments and suggestions welcomed.

We are considering adding ereaders to our library first, and perhaps to our speech and language program. We would like to learn about ereader programs in high school classes--that's why I am looking forward to learning for this community of educators--thanks for your warm welcome!

Hello Jeremy,

Yes, I am planning to launch a Kindle Program at Flagstaff in the fall of 2011. I have been following Buffy Hamilton and Kathy Parker and I am so grateful for their willingness to share what they have learned as they set up Kindle program at their schools. What I need help with right now is understanding the logistics of purchasing Kindles and content via Amazon. What are my edu account options? I know just enough to be dangerous and would appreciate any and all help with this process.
