I am piloting a Kindle classroom experiment at the independent school in Nashville where I work.  I really want to start to play around with the public notes and highlights, so that as a class reads, they can see what their peers and I are highlighting and commenting.  I'm really excited about how the discussion starts AS you read, instead of just after.  In particular, I would like to play around with highlighting and making a note that has a thought-provoking question on a particular passage in that night's reading.  Then that question becomes the jumping point for our discussion the next day.  Particularly, I think this will be awesome with symbolism, something we do a lot in our 9th grade English class.  I always wish that rather than dissect a symbol post-mortem, they can be nudged to see the symbolism as they are reading it the first time.
