Extracting notes and highlights from Nooks

Started by P. Slough. Last reply by Tom VanDyke Mar 9, 2012. 1 Reply

I was just talking with my Barnes and Noble rep. She told me that we can't extract (email, etc.) the notes and highlighting from any of the Nooks. This seems like a fatal flaw to me.  I want to use…Continue

You can password protect shopping; but I don't want students to be able to access the 'settings' button at all. They could go in and change that password protection, among other things!

Karen,

On the regular nooks under setting you can choose to password protect so you should be able to do that with the Color tool.

Hi Everyone!

Well, I finallly picked up my NOOKcolors and I love them! Can anyone help me with this:

Can you set up the NOOK so that no one but myself can access 'settings'?

thanks!

Getting closer to signing out 4 Nooks...I seem to remember someone mentioning a survey that students fill out when the ereader is returned. Does anyone have one and is willing to share?
I finally cataloged the Nooks in Infocentre with the titles in the general notes field. Not perfect, but when the Nook is signed out, the title is listed as out. In this way, each individual title doesn't need a barcode.

We have Follett and I do give them a barcode number (which isn't really a physical barcode).  They have a "sublocation" of the Nook the titles are on. If you haven't read any of the Unquiet Library guides you should - these are most helpful!!

I have 2 Nooks ready for sign out soon. How do you catalog the books on the Nook. Our circulation system is Infocentre and I envision the student looking up a book title and all formats will be listed including ebook on a Nook. But, other than giving each title a unique barcode # on the Nook, I'm not sure how to do it. I will have a barcode for each Nook, but Infocentre won't let me tie the title to the individual Nook. Any ideas?
