They can still be displayed, and they'll show up in a Destiny search too. It's not a perfect solution, I realize, but...
Perhaps Follett would be willing to sell you the MARC records only to the book and you could just change the Material Type to ebook? I used to do that with Playaways that didn't come with MARC records. It was a hassle, but again, it made them searchable.
