where educators come to learn from one another
I just received 30 Nooks that are designated for Senior English to be used in school only. I need some kind of mobile cart to charge, store, move and keep them secure. Does anyone know of any?
I also got 20 for check out. I plan to use them in my new book Club program for student check out. Does anyone have a contract that they already have put into place that works nicely? I want an agreement signed by the student and parent to be responsible.

We bought 35 Nook Colors last year and I bought a cart I am absolutely unhappy with! I don't know off the top of my head the name of the company, but I will look it up on Monday and give you the name. The problem with this cart is the chargers don't all fit. The mobility and locking of the cart is great. Did you buy Nook Simple Touch? I don't know what the chargers look like for them.

Hi Paula,
Folks have shared contracts in the Resources section, tab at top of main page. You might also check out Buffy Hamilton's blog and Kindle/Nook resources for more help.
Sounds like you are off to a great start!

Dear Tina,
The Nook Color and the iPad have "oversized" power adaptors. They all need a "pivoting" power strip in order to fit without crowding out the others. Kindles, Nook Touches, Sony's have small 1" power adaptors, they will all fit neatly together.
It is also important to have a surge protected power strip, these are a little more expensive, but I feel that they are worth the extra protection.
You can still use your cart by adding short "9-12 inch" AC extension cords on every other outlet. I cannot remember the trade name for these, but I will send it along when my brain cells regenerate.

Brain Cells have turned back on...Those small AC extension cords are called "Liberators", How patriotic!

Thanks so much! I can't tell you how much of a headache those chargers were last year. This year I am checking out Nooks to individual students so it's not as much of a pain.
As far as contracts--have you checked out Buffy Hamilton's site? She has contracts & someone else on this site does too. I'll try to find the link & send it.
I love my PLN!

Morning Tina,
Yes! Buffy Hamilton's blog is an educational experience for me. Her opinions are experience based and make sense.
As a vendor, I am always trying to determine what new product can satisfy a need. What will make your job easier and is it worth the money? At times I can offer good advice.
Thanks for your friendship.....I'll try not to be too annoying with my direct mailings.
