We just started our BYOD 8th grade pilot here at Sears School. In addition I was able to purchase 20 ipads to use in my program in the LTC with all of our students 1-8. I am very excited to develop/modify my curriculum with these new initiatives in place. It's messy but all good!

Promised Will I would get this info posted so here goes. From Tuesday night I mentioned a great doc camera that works well with ipads and itouches and other mobil devices. The Ipevo http://ning.it/ij92i7 is really great: small, light weight but sturdy. Almost no glare and at the 70.00 price tag rather affordable.Also mentioned that we are headed to a 10 ipad pilot. As soon as that is off the ground I will post more. We are doing it with our student services dept and should be hitting several age groups in our K-8 school. Scott Meech who is my tech facilitator is the spearhead for much of this and well worth following on twitter @smeech. Everyone should also check out his app review website IEAR www.iear.org/ It is completely done by educators for educators. I have reviewed for it myself and it can really be a huge resource for mobil learning devices including the ebook sections.

To borrow library books on the iPad, first install the Bluefire Reader app on the iPad (select from app store). Then follow the instructions from the Bluefire site that you can read by clicking here. Happy reading!
