Thor, I actually have been developing a format for an atlas for the Kindle. I will send you a copy to look at. Map images are tough on the Kindle but what I have is acceptable, I think. Great app ideas, btw. Keep 'em coming!

I would certainly like to the atlas.
Thor, I sent the atlas demo a while back to the email associated with this site. I am uploading it here so you can retrieve it. It contains just three cities but I made it as a concept piece. You can zoom the maps and they display tolerably well--I think this is about the best resolution achievable on the Kindle at this point. The maps display in color on Kindle for PC. Let me know what you think.

How about an app that could open an "account with dfferent students" I teach about 4 different age groups and although I would like to use the same novel with more than one group, I am hestitant to do so because it would mix up the pages and the notes that I ask students to post. If an app could be created that would allow me to create a file or folder and name it for student to put his notes in, I would love it!
A couple of thoughts: if the book you are using is not expensive (maybe free if in the public domain like Huck Finn), you could put multiple copies of the book on a single Kindle and name the book "Huck Finn - Joshua's Copy"; that way all of Joshua's notes would be appended to his copy of the book. Kids could also make notes in the same copy but identify themselves in the note by name or some scheme you come up with. Then you could sort for one student's comments when reviewing the work. I think it will take a different machine with different firmware to really make your plan a reality...;-(
