Has anyone taken a look at the Nook Color yet? Does it allow you to add apps from the Android App Market?

Also, QVC and Walgreens are selling a Pandigital Ereader that runs on Android and uses BN as it's bookstore. It sells for $199 regular and looks similar to the Nook color. My assistant ordered one and I can't wait to see it. Anyone know about these items?

Hi Kathy, B&N announced NOOKdeveloper yesterday when NOOKcolor was released: "When it comes to creating new NOOKextras™, the possibilities are as endless as the titles in our bookstores. Our Android-based platform provides the perfect canvas for developers to design and implement their ideas. Got a great suggestion for a new NOOKextra that our readers would love? We want to hear about it! Find out more about our NOOKdeveloper™ program by clicking here http://www.barnesandnoble.com/nookcolor/developer/index.asp?cds2Pid..."
Kathy, Nook Color is a very locked down Android Tablet, and you know, I think that's ok. If Barnes explodes the "extras" category as Laurie suggests, then you would have a limited Android Market, a subset of apps. An alternative is to get a more "open" Android tablet and install the B&N app on that. Have you experimented with the Pandigital? I am still pretty happy with my Nook Color!
At this time you cannot add apps to the Nook Color. I hope they open that up later so that you can do so.
I got to play with both and, I must say, I was astonished at how much I enjoyed the NookColor! It was a nice size and really easy to understand and use. The Pandigital was nice but a little slow. I think it's a good deal for the price. It has the same locked down Android base as the NookColor. No built in wifi makes it very limited though!
